Neither I, nor Ted ever said closing the border would fix everything. Ted Cruz doesn’t begin to state illegal contraband or people come through border crossings. Visa overstayers come over that way, too, legally, then become illegal.
All vehicles, products, and people would be forced to find a non-paved path over the border. Period. That is a big disincentive.
