Why doesn’t J.B. The Hutt pay for the surgeries himself, if he thinks they should be available to Medicaid recipients? Why should we the taxpayers pay? And he wonders why people are fleeing Illinois!
1) Self-mutilation isn't a right I should pay for. It is elective surgery, and therefore a privilege.
2) "Rights" whose costs are borne by others is agreed slavery. It's socialized cost and mandated work by others. It's fair if we agree on it as a means to handle accidents, but elective surgery isn't an accident. That includes boob-jobs, face-lifts, liposuction, gender "transformation", and the psychiatric attention that inevitably accompanies it.

Medicating and operating on a healthy body to satisfy a diseased mind should be a criminal offense.
IIRC Medicaid doesn’t pay very well. The only thing I can think of that might be worse than having one’s genitals surgically removed is having one’s genitals surgically removed by someone who is underpaid for doing the procedure.
At least California has nice weather to enjoy on the road to bankruptcy! (I've lived in both Springfield and in Chicago, and I know about Illinois weather.)
