Pretty disgusting. The foundations namesake would be ashamed.

Be polite, respectful. Ask them who in the media pressured them, ask who is on their board that withdrew the award, why they did this.

Next, shove in the knife and twist it by telling them you and others are getting their nonprofit bylaws from the NH Secretary of State and you are considering to file a complaint that they are acting as a political organization, AND you are looking to request their charter be revoked.

Two can play this game.

Their automated response:

Thank you for your email. In regards to the the 2019 James W. Foley Freedom Awards, The January 11 decision with respect to the James W. Foley Hostage Advocate award is being mischaracterized by some media outlets. While it is accurate that our foundation intended to present our hostage freedom award to Secretary Pompeo until that date, we ultimately decided we could not present the award as planned due to the dramatic change in circumstances when the Administration did not press for genuine accountability from the Saudi government for the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. In addition to advocating for the safe return of American hostages abroad, the protection of free speech and promotion of journalists’ safety is a key pillar of our foundation and this award would have been in conflict with that key principle.

We thank Secretary Pompeo for his extraordinary efforts to bring Americans home and are grateful for all that he and this administration have accomplished to prioritize the return of our citizens. In particular we are thankful for the time he dedicated to meeting with families of American hostages on Tuesday. We look forward to working closely with Secretary Pompeo and this administration on these efforts to bring Americans safely home.

James Foley’s mother is the President of the Foundation and she is a gutless bitch. Very effusive when they gave him the award, spineless wretch, hiding in the bushes when they cave to the media.

“...due to the dramatic change in circumstances when the Administration did not press for genuine accountability from the Saudi government for the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.”

Trump’s fault. The Foley organization has jumped on the Blame-Game Train.

Latest member of Foley Board of Directors Peter Bergen:
Bergen is New America’s vice president for global studies and fellows, CNN’s national security analyst, a member of the Aspen Homeland Security Group and a fellow at Fordham University’s Center on National Security. He is also on the editorial board of Studies in Conflict & Terrorism, a leading scholarly journal in the field, and he is the author or editor of seven books about national security issues, three of which were New York Times bestsellers and four of which were named among the best nonfiction books of the year by The Washington Post.

get the picture?

They’ve got a FB page. I went there and commented, even posting the link to the original awards program, but now they’ve blocked me. Gutless.

Who cares for a fake award? Sorry to say that there aren’t any awards worth anything, since Jug Ears got a Nobel Prize for doing nothing. Any award that can be influenced by whiners is worthless.
