Hey, I thought this guy would make a great President ! It’s amazing how the political class of Republican Presidential aspirants turned out to be a total disaster. Witness George Allen, Mark Sanford, Sessions, et al.

I used to think prior political office should be a prerequisite to the highest offices. Now it appears they probably ought not have any and come straight out of the private sector as to not be tainted.

When the other poster said Sessions would easily coast to victory, especially when he’d have to answer for his willful negligence/incompetence (or perhaps blackmail) to the primary voters, I was just floored. I think THAT is precisely why he won’t ever run for office again. It’s a damn shame that he turned out such a fiasco. If he has a shred of dignity to restore his name in any way, especially if it was all due to blackmail or discovering the corruption running so deep and wide he couldn’t hope to begin to tackle it, he should write a book spelling out WHY his performance was abysmal and have it published upon his death.

As I said once before, Richard Baris has a friend who is close to Sessions. The guy couldn’t believe the difference in Senator Sessions/prosecutor Sessions and AG Sessions. Baris asked his friend what happened and he said he had no idea, but that it appeared “someone got to him.”

We know who it was, but what was it over ? Probably an affair or some such (unless it was a full-on Sen. Pat Geary-type setup).

“There is no hammer.”

I agree - the DOJ of a Republican administration will never jail top officials from the prior Democrat administration, even though they tried to do it to us, and badly deserve it - it’s just not in our nature.

That would be like - in a skunk vs. wildcat fight - expecting the wildcat to turn around and let loose with a stink bomb. It’s not the way they evolved.

Our side (Trump) can and will win elections, but he’ll do it by outsmarting his prey - not by spraying it with fowl smelling oders.

I never expected Trump or any of his AGs to go down that road - and I’m not at all disappointed he has “failed” to do so.

I know - “two tier justice systems”, “a nation of laws”, etc...

But look what he IS doing: maneuvering Democrats into embracing wildly unpopular positions, so that they can’t win elections. That’s a far more permanent victory than attempting to jail your political opponents. Even if he succeeded - how long before they are fully pardoned and become heroes and martyrs for the Leftist cause?

I’m perfectly happy with the way POTUS is approaching this fight - don’t even try to lock them up - instead, marginalize them politically.
