Based on whats been said....the community groups wanted Amazon to agree to x-number of the 25,000 being home-grown residents (not the move-in’s), and they wanted a guarantee on minimum wage. That was more or less a ‘no-go’ for Amazon HR.
If I remember the episode of Wal-Mart trying to move into DC around six years ago, same script there. The city council wanted a promise that x-number of employees had to be actual DC residents, and guaranteed full-time labor.

Well, the boss may allow Amazon back into New York! This is so exciting.....does Amazon have any say in this, or is it strictly up to “the boss”?

amazon would be tremendously stupid to move top new York. when left to it’s own devices, the new York democrats hate amazon, they’re only acting civil now because they fear the political backlash. once amazon locates there, they will again be attacked and pilloried by these same democrats.
The sudden stories about her and her Chief of Staff misusing campaign funds likely came from Democrats pissed off over this and her other antics. She’s feeling the heat.
Well, you know there have been back room conversations with her, and she may have even woke up in the middle of the night with a dead horse head in her bed (or the equivalent in “message”).
I’m dead serious. This is the big leagues. Eventually someone like her has to be reigned in - one way or the other.

The Genius Alexandria Ocrazio-Cortex finally figured out that NYC wasn’t cutting a $3 billion check to Amazon.
No, not at all.
For the duration of the deal, Amazon would get a 27 billion dollar tax bill minus a 3 billion dollar tax credit. So NYS would net 24 billion dollars.
Without the deal, Amazon doesn't move to NYS, and NYS would NOT get 24 billion in taxes from Amazon, they would get zip, zilch, nada, nothing, goose egg -- Zero!
And NYS wouldn't get the tax receipts from the 25K additional jobs that the deal would generate.
You really don't know what you are talking about and it's really not that complicated. You and AOC.
Of course, across the board tax cuts are always better than targeted tax cuts. But that's not what you and AOC are arguing for.

As a lifelong bookkeeper/ accounting person, I would advise Amazon to NEVER open any facilities in NYC.

Funny how AOC’s Mom moved to Florida out of NYC over taxes & she doesn’t think that the same reasons could apply to Amazon. HYPOCRITE to the core....==AOC.
