We are in the midst of a Cold Civil War.
Colorado was the first state to vote in that marriage was between a man and a woman. The gay mafia and liberals have successfully attacked Colorado taken over the state.
LOL!!! Only “Blue” states have (or will) do this... and as with all “Progressive” crap... it’s just that... crap. If by chance, the Democrat in 2020, wins the Electoral vote and loses the popular (opposite of 2016), we all know... these states would immediately meet to repeal their popular vote law so the Democrat wins. They are Leftists... their entire agenda are LIES!!!
And a shift of less than 3000 votes in Minnesota would have given Ronald Reagan ALL 50 STATES in 1984.
They hate middle America!
I really don’t think voters are going to put up with an elector selling them out. Electors can be reliably depended on to vote the will of their state’s voters.
I am sure the state can pass no law as to how an elector will cast her or his vote based on other state totals. I see it as wholly unconstitutional.
The issue is a state law vs. the US Constitution. There shouldn’t even be a question in court.
Thanks. I knew that, but the way things are going in the US, it just seems like convention and the Constitution don’t matter any more.
We don’t need no stinking constitution.
There may well be a war before all of this is settled.

Hate to have to say it, but they don’t. Political Correctness and feelings are what matter now.
Here is your national popular vote winner from now on.

Don’t bet on it!! Roberts is a snake disguised as a constitutional conservative!!
I know, I know...but this is a bit different.
Again, they don't compel the electors to vote a certain way - they just don't appoint ones who may go rogue.
Today two states allot electors proportionately based on the popular vote. The other 48 are winner-take-all.
It may be true that they don't have laws stating how the electors vote, but they damn sure have laws saying how they'll be appointed.
And they'll be appointed based on how they'll vote.
These states will be rethinking their "popular vote compact" real quick the first time there's a strong third party candidate running from the center-left like, say, Howard Schultz.
Its quite literally urban areas vs rural areas.
They can call me at dinner time and we can talk about it, i’ll be having beef that I raised.....wonder what they are having for dinner...these pukes can cut the crap any time now.
538 and 270 aren’t numbers written in stone or in the Constitution. If Congress wants the Electoral College to reflect population more closely, they could increase the size of the House of Representatives. With 500 or 600 reps, it’s likely that California or Texas would have clout in an Electoral College more proportional to their population. Of course that would mean paying a lot more representatives and having to put up with them.
This is completely out of any state's jurisdiction!
Go read the Constitution.
You got that right! Rotten Bastards!
With the 20+ million illegal alien voters who vote Democrat, there is no way a Republican can ever win the popular vote. The electoral college is already stacked against Republicans, the Democrats always have California, New York, etc..which is why a Republican must win Ohio, PA, Florida, etc..
