Since when did corporations pay income taxes? The people who work there and the investors do.

Taxes are like any other expense.

Maybe to an accountant this is true. But in the running of a company, each expense should generate a benefit to the company that is greater than the expense. Like buying an better piece of equipment to make production more efficient. ROI on the equipment (or any expense)is important.

Taxes have a 0% ROI (not really true, as it is hard to measure). It is applied to all competitors as an equal drain on profits. A fair tax system does not make anyone more or less competitive. But is DOES push the marginal competitor into the red and perhaps out of business. Not sure if this is good or bad.

It isn’t just Amazon. Any time a big company comes to town, they get all sorts of government freebies. Of course, the little people get the bill for those “freebies”.

Perhaps we should go back to simpler times. Shut down the entire government except for what the Constitution actually calls for. Stop giving politicians the opportunity to become millionaires. Stop supporting people who do not want to work. No federal income tax would be necessary because tariffs would support the military quite nicely. Sell off all government land to pay off the debt and what can’t be paid off, declare bankruptcy because there would never be a need to borrow again. If we need money to wage war, tax the states. Oh, and build that wall!

Hmm. Amazon didn’t add the cost of income taxes to their products and services? Fine with me.

A low fixed flat tax with no deductions, exemptions, exclusions or credits is the solution.

Trump is not doing that, is he?

We'll see how the "deal" works out.
