Well other than the possible destruction of some of the plants butterflies prefer, milkweed I think for Monarchs, the damn things fly a wall isn't going to inhibit migration one damn bit and i'm sure something could be arranged to plant or replant any of the flora disrupted by construction.
But no one is being fooled, none of these protestations are about the butterflies.

We’re not. There are electronically
controlled gates planned for those
on the butterfly ranch. They can access
any portion of their property. There
is going to be a 150’ buffer zone that
will be clear of brush and trees. This
is what the butterfly ranchers are most
concerned about. They may have to fly
in sustenance for the herd.
