No sane person would think wildlife on that border cannot survive on either side.
Will these protesters, who allegedly are so concerned about the environment, leave behind tons of garbage as they did at pipeline protests?
Flutter by, butterfly!
I don’t know about that for this piece and many other sections. There is an environmental waiver that was done for the Secure Fence Act...which was supposed to continue but was stopped under O Administration...and defunded by Congress.
The legal battle will be for property in TX along the river. During the Secure Fence timeframe many property owners sold and some were already imminent domained. The levee wall border was already in progress in that area so that may have already been dealt with there. There are some cases still in court since then though...and may be forever.
California, Arizona, NM has an easement along the border by Roosevelt, called the Roosevelt Reservation. There are some issues with that...it is 60’ wide...not sure that is wide enough for the construction but should be wide enough for fence and patrol road when fence is completed. Issues are some interpret it to mean easement was only for public land though at least one rancher in my area said it shows on his ranch deeds as being an easement on his property.
I don’t see right of way being much of an issue other than TX along the river. That will be a battle but if they don’t want a secure fence/wall then put it up everywhere else...let them be the only open spot on the border and I bet they will change their mind.
Get the hummrs with the sonic weapnsmon them or the microwave ones that irritate your skin and nail the protestors until hey have to leave.
Dont even have to touch them, they wont be physicaly hurt to drain medical resources.
Its also slats that the butterflies could fly between
We’ve all heard that people were buried in the Great Wall China. Maybe they were protesters.
Peanutbutterfly and jellyfish samiches.
***And some of them might even become part of the wall...***
In the olden days before Christianity, it was common to appease the earth gods by walling up a live child to make the structure “sound”.
Under even the most optimistic scenario this is going to be tied up in court for years.

The high court let stand an appeals ruling that lets the administration bypass 28 federal laws,
mostly to protect the environment, to build the wall in the Rio Grande Valley. The Animal Legal
Defense Fund and two other organizations had sued the government.
Some of the laws that were waived include the Endangered Species Act, the Safe Drinking
Water Act and the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. Environmental
activists argue the wall could lead to the extinction of endangered species such as the
ocelot, contamination of drinking water and destruction of indigenous historical sites.

Windmills are the answer.
LOL! Re-read what you wrote.
“Under even the most optimistic scenario this is going to be tied up in court for years.”
It is likely that some claims will continue in the the courts for years. But that is just arguing about the price - construction starts this month regardless.
Most of the challenges have already been adjudicated. In fact, the argument was effectively settled during the Secure Fence Act of 2006’s barrier building program. The only unsettled issue is the super long shot claim that a barrier, even with a gate, violates freedom of religion - ridiculous on its face.
The Left is out of real arguments, and will only be banging on the table. I doubt they will muster a big demonstration, because the issue is so bad for them politically, with another caravan about to hit. They will probably just have a few wing nuts wander out unsupervised. It might be entertaining to watch their confusion.
Unless we do as the dems. Court order? Meh! Keep working folks.
This is series. Butterflies can’t fly over walls. Look it up.
If it’s steel slats, the butterflies can fly through the slats.
Only with GPS or google maps.
This talk of Rachel Corie made me think they should have designed the wall to operate like a car crusher. Someone tries to climb it, just flip the side down and flatten the climber. A secondary wall lies behind it, so others walking over the downed first wall get crushed between them when the first wall is pulled back into vertical position. You can still have see-through slats, so it works like an egg-slicer. I think that would discourage future climbers.
