I’m eager to hear from the Post, regarding their stupid slogan, “Democracy dies in darkness”.

First of all, they don’t even know we are not a democracy. We are a constitutional republic. Supposedly well educated “reporters” and “journalists” don’t even know that basic distinction.

Secondly, I wish they would tell us why they adopted that slogan when Trump became president. Are they implying that these are the dark ages? Are they implying that freedom of the press is under attack in the Dark Ages of Trump?

And can they tell us, specifically, what policies or laws enacted during the Trump era, have constrained them from publishing whatever the heck dreck they want to publish? Can they tell us how their freedoms to publish anything have been blocked by anything Trump has done????

Hanks just keeps on digging his liberal hole deeper and deeper. Can’t stand to look at him anymore. Can’t stand to watch his old movies knowing what he’s become - or maybe what he always was.

If he is a cheater, which it certainly seems he was and by his own admission, then how’s the Enquirer at fault? Bezos doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

Wow. I didn’t know the Newseum was closing until you told me. Alas, somehow we weren’t able to work it into our schedule when we were in dc last summer. Now I’ll never see it. I see they sold their $325M building to Johns Hopkins.. I wish I’d known; they could have dynamited that scab on the National Mall, the African American History Museum, and moved into the Newseum space

I didn’t watch the Super Bowl so I didn’t see any of the ads.

I’m not about to watch The Compost’s propaganda.

My blood pressure can’t take it.

The ad is 'the ideal'... It's what we all wish was true.

The reality is 'journalists' are a bunch of protected upper-class kids who traipsed off to decent journalism schools to bring their sheltered idiocy back to newsrooms - - to a job that requires real life working class grit.

The offspring of the ultra elites and a few kids from the dregs of the world (kids who are suppose to prop up the beliefs of the elites - think 'house slaves telling the master he's right in what he believes).

And yeah, Greenfield says it best:

The Newseum white elephant at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue isn’t just narcissistic idolatry, it celebrates an idea of journalism that doesn’t exist. Journalism now is a bunch of millennial social justice activists playing dress-up. They’re not a profession or an industry. They don’t report. They don’t know anything. And they don’t serve the public...

Actually, the Mark Twain quote was:

If you don't read the newspapers, you are uninformed.
If you do read the newspapers, you are misinformed.

It goes hand-in-hand with a quote from Will Rogers a generation or so later:

The problem isn't so much with the things that we don't know.
The problem is with the things we know that just ain't so.
