I think the chaos at the airports is getting to people. That’s the quickest way to have the shutdown impact way more than 800k people.
God Bless President Trump, I’m thinking he’s going to have to declare a national emergency to get this done.
One hope is that the President will promote paying for border security by ending federal welfare for illegals.
My heart goes out to Pres Trump...never in history has 1 man stood so much and fought so many and stood to do it all again another day........We all prayed like mad before he was elected...we need to return to that fever pitch of prayer again, for him and the good of our country
Pres Trump has now given the country leaders the carrot and stick approach to settle the govt shutdown as well as funding the border security wall that America needs. Unlike other presidents who unwisely trusted the democrat party to keep their promises to fund the wall if only this or that thing was done in return. Pres Trump has set a deadline for negotiation on the entire situation and ended his address to the nation by affirming that either the wall is funded or he will use his presidential powers to get the job done without their help. I support Pres Trump in this decision which tells the democrats to put up or shut up. He has afforded them the opportunity to work for the safety of America and the citizens who pay for this govt. God bless Pres Trump and keep him safe. February 15 is three weeks away. The democrat leaders and any recalcitrant Republican leaders had better get cracking.
He should have declared the emergency in exchange for opening government again. He could have said the shutdown adds to the emergency. It was a lost opportunity.
Well the lower federal Courts will step in and issue a Stay on any Emergency order as the root argument will be you had 2 yrs to issue such an order and didn’t...Might win if it goes to the SCOTUS by 2022...There will be a large band of Democrats filing lawsuits to block it....That is the future..Can’t let Trump win...Meanwhile masses of human debris will flow in from the South.

If this isn’t controlled opposition theatre, then why didn’t the President Tweet, email, appeal on media for ALL of his red-blooded American supporters to light up the the democrats switchboards with calls to demand a wall?
Remember when the TEAparty, Rush, Gingrich republicans and FReeper community would energize the conservative base to FIGHT.

I think President Trump is doing everything that he can to build this wall. For those not paying attention, yesterday 6 republican senators just voted to open the government with no wall funding. That’s right. The “republican” senate just voted to undermine the “republican” president. Would it have been better for the President to wait and have the senate vote to open the government or even worse override a presidential veto? Where would that get us?
Today President Trump suffered a political loss.
More importantly, today We the American People suffered a physical, economic, and national security loss.
History will not be kind to today’s political foes of our President. The federal governments first job is to protect liberty and the civil society. It has failed.
