Last night I saw an ad for Volkswagen. Female voice. The ad showed three females in a car, packing their belongings. All smiling enjoying life. They made one stop and that was apparently to visit the ex-BF of one. He was in a room playing video games and was the object of ridicule. Of course, a white male. The message was clear, one of the women dumped her loser boyfriend and she was shown enjoying life with her female companions. This is to sell a car. The shallowness was astounding. I guess that is what sells: female empowerment, men are losers. Then again, the dude in the ad should be the one celebrating.
