I believe yesterday’s national address followed by today’s “meeting” were the preludes to his declaration of a national emergency.

in an ideal world, trump’s speech is step one of a multi step process. the next step is to shut down the border (which i believe he can do with or without declaring a national emergency).
then wait a few days or even weeks or months.
mexico’s drug cartels and the banks who depend on them should start pressuring the democrats in congress to settle— ideally, on trump’s terms, if they are coming hat in hand to trump.
what would be the ideal time for trump to wait to take this second step? or would he take a different second step? imho there has to be a second step of some sort and it must shake the democrats to their core.
Screw the wall, make and drop neutron warheads. Zap! Bulldoze the leftovers into slit trenches. Message will be received and understood.

So presidents should not be allowed to declare emergencies if they benifit their political party ? Cause that is what would happen. No potential emergency that benefited a President or governor could be declared. That is the main problem with the uniparty. They only care about themselves. Obama dragged his foot on Texas fire emergency aid.

I have noticed that since 9-11 it has been blamed more and more on me, a white guy. I have been informed that they attacked us because white guys like me are racist and stuff.
The Progs always play the long game. They won’t mind Trump building the wall by emergency decree. Instead of enraging their base if they approved funding it would rally their base. Also it would extend and further empower the Executive which would the Dems just fine. The next election that results in a unitary Progs government will be the last election.
The best option is to hold out until the Dems agree to funding.
There is another option that currently exist. On your 1040 tax form there is a place where you can donate money towards paying off the national debt and the Treasury must obey your wishes in that regard. The Bureau of the Fiscal Service may accept gifts donated to the United States Government to reduce debt held by the public. Acting for the Secretary of the Treasury, Fiscal Service may accept a gift of: Money, only on the condition that it be used to reduce debt held by the public. We need to ADD another option to the 1040 which allows Americans to donate money to build the border wall.
Ask your congressman and Senator to offer legislation adding the border wall to this provision. We the people should not be blocked from funding something that we want done if we are willing to pay for it. Congress keeping us from doing so is not constitutional as it goes against Article Four, Section Four which guarantees to the states a republican form of government.
A republican form of government is one whereby the people elect representatives to the big decision making table to REPRESENT the will of the people who elected them. If the will of the people is to build a wall and Congress refuses to do so, then the people should have the ability to bypass the will of congress and implement their wishes. Congress should have no say in how funds are spent which are donated for a specific purpose. Congress only has authority over the money in their budget. Donations in excess of this is not theirs. According to the U.S. Constitution, we the people are the ones in charge. If we are able to donate to one cause already, we should be able to add the wall as another cause. Let's get this done. How can they argue against us doing what we want done as a nation without looking like total fools? President Trump should ask them to add the wall to this provision as an option and make the political case for it.
To me, politically, THIS is the argument that needs to be made. It will put maximum pressure on congress to actually fund the wall if they see that the people will do it despite them. It's tax season. That wall would be paid for in full by April!
