What I told them way back when, was we will be crawling all over ourselves, lets make it as painless and expedient as possible.
The Seawolf class was intended to replace the Los Angeles class for this type of work to include shallow. The Seawolf has better communication capacity and is a little faster and better armed, but the cost is huge and you know how congress panics when they hear dollar signs. So with the closing of the Seawolf program in larger numbers, it appears the Los Angeles class is going to be used past 2040. Maybe congress can come up with the money, but those greedy cheapo’s are more interested in their health program than building a solid defense force with attack capacity which the Seawolf class contains.
