So while these same Hollywood clymers and the rest of the history purgers, including herself, Molly Ringwald, are wringing their hands because a high school senior is interested in a high school sophomore in
Sixteen Candles, as if no senior has ever liked a sophomore before or since, they continue to find ways to honor and excuse away an actual pedophile who at the age of 43 drugged a 13 year-old girl and raped her in multiple ways. Of course, the pedophile in question is Roman Polanski, the 2003 Oscar winner for Best Director along with a host of European awards since then.
But at least it's only the awards voters who are fine with Polanski since that 2003 Oscar and not the actors themselves except for Eva Green, Jodie Foster, Kate Winslett, John C. Reilly, Ewan McGregor, Timothy Hutton, Pierce Brosnan, Christoph Waltz, Ben Kingsley, Jim Belusi, and Helena Bonham Carter who have all made movies with Polanski during that time.
