Funniest thing I ever saw at this mall; about 20 years ago, a teenage girl and an older woman were sitting in the food court. A group of 4 teenage hood types came over to a table right next to them and started harassing them, saying some pretty nasty stuff to the younger girl. The area was pretty empty at the time and I was at a point where I was going to go look for security, when this really huge guy came walking over with a tray of food. Turned out he was with the two girls, and he obviously heard some of what they were saying. He calmly sets down the tray with the girls, turns to the hoods, and loudly asked which one wanted to die first. The look on their face was absolutely precious, eyes bulging from their heads as they looked up at him, they quickly scampered off. I went over as I was leaving and mentioned I was glad he showed up when he did. Turns out, it was Mike Rockwood from the Buffalo Bills.
I see about 5 “youth’s” a year where I live. Guess I’ll stay put.
Most malls don't have bookstores anymore. (sigh)
What state and city?
Chris was right. The mall white people used to go to in very liberal Austin, TX wanted to shut down during the state wide high school track and field competitions because the “youths” always made trouble at the mall between events. The city ordered the stores to stay open.
Last time I went to a mall was over a decade ago. We people watched. It was HS prom night so the little pimps and hos were on parade. Grills, chains, bling, pants on the ground and prom dresses cut waaay down past their navels.
Western NY. Cheektowaga is a suburb of Buffalo.
And they have no shame in being obese and wearing those hoochie dresses. I have seen them in outfits which actually outline their guts over spilling the midriff cut-out, as if they were highlighting it. Disgusting to any normal person, but apparently somebody in that demographic likes it, or so many of the females wouldn’t be doing it.
This is in my town, a few minutes away. It’s not a place where we go any longer. It’s not worth the risk of possibly getting caught in the middle of a “misguided youth” brawl where the rent a cop security is a d@mn joke.
We drive to another town if we really need to go to a mall, or we shop online.

Disadvantaged yutes, expressing their alienation and disaffection for the consumerist economy and the human condition in general. Really they had no choice in the matter.
