All of those non-essentials will wind up with three or four weeks of extra paid vacation.

I am tired of this yearly extortion. We just gave 10 Billion to Mexico n cent America.. and people are complaining that grandma couldn’t buy Christmas for her grandkids.
Both sides think we are stupid. If trump wanted a wall, he should have used the 10 Billion. Ridiculous political bs on both sides.

As I have said in other threads, my friend is full time National Guard. During shutdowns he gets sent home. When it’s over he gets paid anyway. He doesn’t care.

Saturday, my daughter was prevented from going into the JPJ Arena to see a UVA basketball game because of the size of her wallet, which is 8” x 4”. She opened the wallet to show the screener the credit cards, driver’s license and cash, but that did not convince him that the wallet was benign. Someone in their infinite wisdom has determined credit cards, a driver’s license and cash are so threatening to the fans and facility that this cannot be allowed in the stadium in this size wallet.
However, a major party has determined it is acceptable for terrorists, criminals, drug dealers and human traffickers to pour into the United States through our borders. This is where our country has gone. God help us.

Why should non essential government workers ever get paid vacation? At a minimum that should end.

It makes you wonder why they have a job at all.

I, the American Tax Payer, am bone-weary of footing the bill for "non-essential" government "services". Anything and everything "non-essential" should be left for local communities and states to address. Taxing the entire union to pay for the frivolities of wasteful congressman is unacceptable. Shut it down. Keep it shut down.

>>It makes you wonder why they have a job at all.<<

Having worked for the Federal Government for almost 30 years, I can attest to the fact that at least half of all employees I was acquainted with could have suddenly vanished, and essential programs and services would have been unaffected.
