Also, maybe bashing Trump daily isn’t as much of a money maker...as Kristol assumed.

Well, even if it was, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, the NY Times, the WaPo, pretty much have that territory staked out.

Weekly magazines are in a world of trouble anyway. Deliberately antagonizing the few readers you have is the work of a fool, and that's what Kristol has chosen to do.

bashing Trump daily isn’t as much of a money maker and vehicle of conservative thought as Kristol assumed

Trump-bashing is a money-maker, but on the Left side of the political spectrum - MSNBC, DailyKos, etc all justify their existence by attacking Trump and his supporters non-stop. Why would anyone want a cheap imitation when they can get the real deal?

The Weekly Standard falls between the cracks - anti-Trump liberals don't read it because its writers claim to be Republicans (and because they can get their daily dose of Trump bashing elsewhere), conservatives don't read it because most of its op-eds are warmed-over 1980's liberalism disguised as conservatism.

Neocons are a dying breed. They followed a hawkish foreign policy which is less popular these days.

'In order to make an omelet you have to break some eggs'.

The problem with neocon political and military actions is we never get the omelets. Just shattered nations filled with hatred toward their aggressors (us).

I don’t know who these traitors thought was going to be their audience. Nobody likes a traitor, not the side you betrayed, and not the side that always was against you. It’s like a bunch of dairy farmers who think they’ll survive by only selling milk to each other. The fools, they dug their own grave, and good riddance to them.

It was a good magazine in the early 2000s, but I haven’t read it in 10 years. Oh well Kristol’s next cruise should be on the Titanic...

Neoconservatives = Trotskyists. Ask William’s daddy, Irving.

I’m sure that Bill Kristol and Fred Barnes have embezzled enough cash to keep these two con artists happy for the rest of their Trotskyite lives.
