The majority had two or more prior diagnoses of a psychological disorder, the most common being a mood disorder such as depression. More than half had reported thinking about suicide, a third had dropped out of high school, a quarter had self harmed. A history of sexual abuse was rarer, observed in ”only” 10 per cent of cases.

Exactly. “Trans-” is a co-morbidity with a slew of other factors. To sum up, “A total hot mess, really,” much of it due to the adults in their lives.
We had a teenaged girl in the local high school who had decided she was either gay or trans- or both, before she jumped in front of a car before daylight one day. Mother and three children in the home - all different fathers, none present - and the mother’s live-in sex-partner who was abusing her and the children.
The mother is all trans-activist now, because the other option would be to acknowledge that her own life choices resulted in her daughter’s being a psychological disaster area and a suicide fatality. We can’t have that, so instead, it’s, “Born in the wrong body.”

The idiots have no concept that the biological differences between men and women can mean life or death when being treated for medical issues.....maybe some doctors and nurses should say something like, “Ok Ms Ralph, if you were a male, we would treat you this way and things would be fine, but since you’re a female, we will have to treat you in a way that would be fatal, or terribly disfiguring, for a male”.....
Or maybe....You need a hysterectomy and to have your tubes tied...don’t worry, if we can’t find the uterus or Fallopian tubes, we’ll find something that looks close enough....
