"no US commander will ever order the military to use lethal force on unarmed people."

Therein lies the problem.. Maybe we need the CIA to find some way to arm them.. But, unfortunately nowadays the CIA is probably on their side..... :(

It’s not whether the wire intends to be racist or not. It’s how the snowflake feels about the wire that counts.

They’ll be crawling under that in no time - not to mention liberal use of wire cutters. No troops no barrier. Worthless waste of time.

If we were serious - first head pokes under the wire gets shot off.

Land mines are a political no-no nowadays.

So, what’s needed in their place is a big water filled ditch full of alligators.

I think of it as active, body seeking, amphibious mines that clean up after themselves.

no US commander will ever order the military to use lethal force on unarmed people,
___________________________________________

We’d all like to think that. There have been numerous incidents, not all Americans fired upon, and some cases involving militia or National Guard, but...

Whiskey Rebillion

Draft Riots, WWI

Strike-breaking mostly during World War I

Kent State

My Lai

Blair Mountain

Presidio of San Francisco, 1906

No Gun Ri, Korea

I tend to think you’re right that no commander would order lethal force in this day and age, mostly due to closer scrutiny than in the past. However, it has happened numerous times in history and under strained circumstances we shouldn’t discount it happening again. It’s not likely in this caravan situation, but this is so far a totally unique scenario.

Also, many have said the US military would never fire on civilians in a rebellion against the government. This is a foolhardy thought. Look what soldiers did at My Lai, or the Germans at Malmedy (though those weren’t civilians, the idea is similar): soldiers are trained to obey orders, and they will usually do so rather than risk being one of the dead bodies when the smoke clears.

Of his wire, Donald said, “On this basis,

But a Snowflake pranced by
And he started to cry,
“It’s so horrid! It’s, like, all so RACISS!”

Pentagon money is earmarked for specific items in the spending bills. Trump can’t just take 20 billion from other stuff and build the wall with it. He has to work with the government as it is, not just bloviate online. He’s doing whatever he can legally.

A large mine field would be far more effective than these pansie efforts.
