“If Ted wasn’t an idiot, we wouldn’t have had to spend a boat load of cash to save his seat. Think about other elections we could have won with that waste of money.”

The amazing wisdom of Trump.Deplorable who has been a FR member for merely 1 year.

You weren’t even here during the 2016 election. Why is that?

Maybe the problem is not so much Ted Cruz but the mindless anti-Cruzers who invaded this forum AND did not support one of the few conservative senators even when pretty much everything was on the line.

No matter what the outcome there are anti-Cruzers on this forum who will take every opportunity to insult one of the most conservative voting senators in Washington.

Some of us were around when the Tea Party revolt led to putting a tiny number of conservatives in office, and Ted Cruz was one of them. He has been a very reliable vote for those of us who supported him from the beginning.

And there was not one penny “wasted” on Cruz. He won. The Dems outspent him by $5 Million. That’s money that Dems wasted trying to take that seat.

And they probably did so because of the real IDIOTS who, even on places like Free Republic, attacked Cruz relentlessly all the way up until Jim Robinson pulled the plug on that behavior.

Those who are too stupid to quit attacking one of the few conservatives representing us in Washington do not deserve a Free Republic.

Madam, You’re not just a pretty FReeper. Some green candidates to split the Dim vote, may indeed be timely in Twenty.

It was unnecessary, if you followed what I was saying the only reason Ted Cruz even needed to spend anywhere close to that much money is because of Ted Cruz not Betaboy. Can’t blame Betaboy for trying though, glad he lost.

This has NOTHING to do with his record.

He must have forgotten his tea party roots because in 2016 he claimed to be the “establishment’s choice” for president. Not exactly Tea Party credentials there. He must have forgotten about that.

At best he is just a knucklehead, and worst he is a Never Trumper Establishment GOPee with a conservative disguise.

sort of a reverse migration? The Dims have been doing this for a while now....with success. Certainly something to talk about.

It’s actually my sister’s idea — and a good one.

The GOP should invest some money in running Green Party candidates that would split the Rat vote.

Its not a theory, it has been proven that people who donate dem, also donate to libertarian candidates, cause they shave a few points off the repubs.

I have suggested that in one of our threads on how to win, revitalize the green party and we donate to it so they have money to spend on ads. Run candidate who love the crazy commie and environmental nonsense they warship over there. A strong Green candidate in NJ in the Hugin/Menendez race could have made that race more winnable for us.

The greens just are not around anymore, rarely see them run anyone. They used to be everywhere in the 2000’s. The dims must have gotten to them

“He must have forgotten his tea party roots because in 2016 he claimed to be the ‘establishment’s choice’ for president.”

Get your facts straight. Cruz ran as an outsider.

“At best he is just a knucklehead, and worst he is a Never Trumper Establishment GOPee with a conservative disguise.”

I’m not sure who hates Cruz worse, the GOPe or the Democrats. It’s a close call. Cruz is only liked and supported by those who lean more conservative in the senate. Unfortunately, that is far less than half of the Republicans. And this is why we keep getting milquetoast Republican leaders there.

Cruz was the only candidate who took Trump seriously and also praised him early on in the campaign. He’s not a “never Trumper.” He just took things too personally when the fight heated up, proving he was not the best candidate. This has nothing to do with him being a good senator or a conservative one.

With the exception of some globalist tendencies, Cruz has proven his conservatism by actually voting conservative. If you consider that phony or a disguise, I’d take 50 more phonies just like him.

Greg Abbott had his butt kicked in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and El Paso

Texas remains Republican controlled but the cities have been lost and with that the process of ensuring a fair election in those cities.
