Okay..I will probably get flamed for this but regarding the President’s tweet: The time for discussion about forest management is not while the fire is burning and they are still shifting for the bones of his voters in the rubble.
This is a worthwhile discussion, but he could have shown a bit of empathy at the moment. It would be akin to telling Tornado victims that their towns should have insisted they build underground homes.
I support the President and I voted for him and will more in likely vote for him in 2020, but from my vantage point, this particular tweet was one that should have been delayed to another point in time. Perhaps he forgets that Butte County voted for him and supports him pretty darn well.
Not yet...but the Sheriff has moved busses into town just in case they are needed. He doesn’t want to get caught short like when he had only 20 minutes to evacuate a city during the dam fiasco. At this point there is no evacuation warning for the city of Oroville, but he says be prepared to leave if neccessary.
Nothing will happen in Oroville, how do I know...because mywife and I took all that time to pack up the bare essentials. This is the one time I do not regret that small headache of having to unpack everything because it was not neccessary.
Latest update is that Cherokee is burning as fires have jumped two fingers of the Lake..More burning in the Berry Creek area too. Pins and needles time.
It might have been worse if this brave nurse and his fellow workers hadn’t worked to save patients at the doomed hospital.
