Tell me someone, I have no TV, but I presume there was NOT any blue wave, not even a light blue wave. It was pretty much a tie, and for midterms the Democrats were supposed to come out ahead, so they lost... I say if anyone needs to be feeling good, and going to be happy are the Trump supporters. Am I right to assume this?

Looks like, at the end of the night, the Republicans will be up 3 or 4 in the Senate, but the Dems will be up 35 or so in the House (making Pelosi speaker again) and will flip 3 or 4 Governorships. So nobody can really claim a wave.

What we're seeing, basically, is the two parties exchanging roughly equal population groups: white men who didn't go to college, traditionally Democratic voters, are now solidly Republican; and white women who did graduate college, traditionally Republicans, are now Democrats.

Unfortunately, Beto, even in losing, has coattails (aka money spillover effect). Pete Sessions lost and John Culberson lost his R+6 district and it wasn’t that close.

So what? Do any of you liberals think I give a shiny krap what you think?

I truly ........don’t.

Democrats O’Rourke, McCaskill, Bill Nelson and Heitkamp on that list all lost. Also note that most of Rick Scott’s spending was his own money, with him having a net worth of close to $250 million.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m THRILLED he won, as it means your one more RINO will be neutralized... But he didn’t have to make it so dramatic with his stunt at the convention.

2+ years later and you're still whining about that??

Grow-up and give it a break already!

“2+ years later and you’re still whining about that??”

DAMN RIGHT. I’m still PISSED as hell that his sicko-pride was worth more to him than the future of the country.

But, as I said, I voted for him - twice this year, and will continue to vote for him, because I put this country over my own pride and ‘principle’ (unlike many here).

I agree.

Ted Cruz owes Trump, big time, for this win.

“I agree. Ted Cruz owes Trump, big time, for this win.”

Thanks. But to Cruz’s credit, he has behaved well since that spectacle. But he needs to understand that he will NEVER again be the darling of Conservatives. At best, we’ll vote for him because the alternative is just too horrendous for our country and our families.

He should take his skills and now look elsewhere for a future. I can PROMISE HIM that he will not be nearly as lucky in 2024 to have such a pathetic candidate as Beto, who actually was a Democrat throw-away, initially - they never thought he’d get any traction. In 2024, Cruz will likely have a candidate more like Joe Manchin (or Llyod Benston), who is able to convince the state that he’s a moderate...and Cruz will be crushed.

Perhaps, if we do make it to 55 seats in the Senate tonight, Cruz can take a federal judgeship - maybe Appeals, maybe Supreme Court (and he’ll do great in either job). But he needs to get out of the election game, he blew that chance.

Over at Reddit, they call him the Zodiac Killer. Pretty damn funny, but it also kind of describes him as having a few strange angles to his face - not good for getting Independents to vote for you.

What a load of horse shit. He was loyal to his family and Donald Trump was dead ass wrong to have stooped that low. I like President Trump but he often goes to far and this was one of those times. Ted Cruz came around and is one of the Presidents most ardent supporters. Some however on FR are ridicules in their constant ridicule and they and people like them hold some responsibility for how close this election was. Even now they criticize him for having a close election. 100,000,000 dollars were pumped into his opponents campaign. Ted won re election and made the dems waste a 1000,000,000 dollars. that's pretty good in my book!!!

LOL, the Democrats will never spend this much money to try to unseat him again. They had EVERYTHING going for them with Beto, huge media attention, big name recognition and record amounts of money and they still lost. When Cruz is up again, it’ll be a presidential election and all the Hollywood money will go to that, not to tilting windmills at a Senate race that everyone knows Cruz will win again.

Ted Cruz doesn't have to grovel at any ones feet. He was fighting for us when Donald Trump was supporting democrats and inviting Bill and Hillary to his wedding!!!

It was Trump’s excessive, absurd and false attacks on Cruz during the primary that certainly cost Cruz some votes. Cruz doesn’t owe him anything. Trump only cared about winning at that moment and had no concern for how much he would damage his Republican opponents in the future, possibly losing votes for his agenda.

Of course I forgot to point out that Cruz himself may be the one running for President 6 years from now. So in that case the Democrats WILL fund his opponent.
