“I guess that means that with Paul Ryan and the GOP no longer in the majority, we won't get full ObamaCare repeal or any funding for the wall$

Obamacare is the law of the land. It could and should collapse but Redumblicans will take the blame. The wall? I believe Trump will just have to tell the Military to suck it up, money is going to be diverted for the wall.

“Took a beating tonight” 😂 How naive can you be? We dodged a major bullet. We are so fortunate to have only lost 33 seats. No president in over 100 years has gained 4+ seats in the Senate except JFK 56 years ago (also +4). Ask Obama or Clinton, they would have been thrilled to lose 33 seats in a midterm. Watch the Democrat, even they are muted. They had much higher hopes for tonight.

“This is called a blue wave.”

That’s just rubbish...we had over 3 dozen retirements, who take their campaign organizations and money with them. I would take billions to defend that many seats.

I expected us to lose the house - b/c we needed to win 85% of at least 40 seats - a statistical improbability.

Yup.. I expected to lose both. Along with a good butt kicking in the house.

once the dems download their talking points this will be the biggest blue wave ever..

but honestly, it was a ripple.

Democrats answer is to shepherd everyone into single payer.

If Republicans have a response, I’m waiting to hear it

People don’t care about the shortcomings as long as its free.

DJT has repeatedly said that he is going to present a ‘wonderful’ healthcare proposal -
let’s see the dems try and vote against something that their constituents could benefit from..

We had a precious few years to wrest control of our corrupt stasi state[#DrainTheSwamp] and do something about immigration[build the wall, end birthright citizenship, end chain migration, deport 50 million illegals and their anchor baby demon spawn]...Basic triage to save the country.

The rinos and neverTrumpers of the GOP decided to torpedo Trump instead.

Yeah, in the time I’ve been here, I’ve seen Nevada go from light red to hard blue. Nevada and Colorado have transitioned into the group of socialist states...all of the west is going that way and it appears that Georgia and Florida are getting close.

This election has been a pretty big downer when you look out a few years. The country is sliding fast into socialism.

It is depressing. I don't see it changing for the better with the younger generations coming up either (hope I'm wrong). Everybody wants - and feels entitled to - free stuff now.

The question is: Where in the U.S. will be the last stronghold of conservatism? The deep south? Wyoming? Utah?

It was more luck though. We had very few seats in the Senate left to lose this cycle because we did so poorly 6 years ago during Obama/Romney. These wins were several seats we should’ve always had, other than Rick Scott’s successful swing flip. Indiana, Missouri and North Dakota were not tall orders. Our Senate majority now is less a function of what happened today than our overperformance in 2014 and 2016.

They are the ones that will have to clean up the mess.

So long as Democrats are immune from conviction none of their voters will take prosecution of any of them seriously. They seriously think all charges against Dems are just politics, fake charges, owing to the fact that almost no Dems ever face real justice.

In a normal country, the Republicans would have kept both houses and won every other race due to the strong economy.

In a normal country, the Republican leadership would have been out there 24/7 touting the great accomplishments of our President!

I saw Mitch McConnell briefly the last couple months, but only regarding the Kavanaugh nomination.

Haven't seen Paul Ryan anywhere in months, unlike Newt Gringrich who, in 1994, was everywhere, nationalizing the House elections.

Why would you expect the Republicans to garner anything more than just the votes of their base tonight, when they themselves weren't out there making the case for MAGA?

Reason we won the Senate was pure happenstance of favorable geography. There wew more Red than Blue States.

The Democrats expected to lose most of these. The map wasn’t favorable to them.

“But historical trends are historical for a reason — they repeat regularly enough throughout history to become trend”

How’s the death of the republic for historical? We’re watching it live and in color...

We will lose about 40 seats. This is less than Obama (who had a much larger majority to defend) but much more than Bush. It is nothing to brag about.

Somebody mentioned the retirements. They are mixing cause and effect. Many of our members retired because they saw the blue wave coming!
