It makes perfect sense. Not only did Deep State get info about whistleblowers, but through the spying they gleaned blackmail-worthy “dirt” on Senate and House critters.
All the mouthy “big-hat-no-cattle” investigators whose hearings produced no results, e.g., Gowdy, Issa. All the RINOs who thwart PDJT relentlessly, e.g., Sessions, Ryan.

The idea that the CIA would monitor communications of U.S. government officials, including those in the legislative branch, is itself controversial. Controversial? Gimme a break - more like 'totalitarian'... freaky... evil totalitarian.
