What is a neuropsychologist? Not a doctor, that would be a neurologist. My guess is he’s more of a psychologist. No medical school therefore not necessarily a rocket scientist.

The word is emigrate, “doctor”.The country one comes from is used with emigrate. The Doctor's family emigrated from whichever European countries they came from, and immigrated to the United States.

If the thugs from the south were “desperately fleeing terrible oppression and danger” they would have agreed to apply for Asylum in Mexico as they were asked by the Mexican authorities to do. Instead they overpowered the police and military, inflicting grievous injury on government officials, and have continued their insurgency of the US. By their own actions they are explicitly not “desperately fleeing terrible oppression and danger.” They are an invasion force with no respect for the laws of our or any other country.
