Do you have the total # of votes in the prior elections? Definitely looks promising.

Loebsack won by roughly 28,000 votes in 2016. 198,571 to 170,933.

Doubtful. A GOP pickup of this seat would be earth-shaking.

Rs +5k from 2016, Ds -300, Is -2400
So Ds are not going I.
You are right: this IS a genuine pickup opportunity.
What is the total D/R/I split in IA? If the D won by 28k in 2016 (-5k now) is there room to make up 23k?

Yeah, we can dream can’t we. This was the old Jim Leach seat.

Different boundaries since Uber RINO Leach. This is U of Iowa and industrial union area. And Peters is not a strong or well-financed candidate. A GOP pickup of this seat would mean a big GOP wave.

I don’t think that particular information is readily available. Only D/R/I split for all of early voting is available.
All Absentee BALLOTS for IA-2 RECEIVED by 11/8/16:
D - 80,100
R - 54,444
I - 45,087
Loebsack (D) - 198,571
Peters (R) - 170,933
So out of 369,504 total votes, 179,631 votes were cast early as absentee ballots (for which we know D/R/I split). For election day voters (which was 189,873 voters in 2016) - we do not know the D/R/I split.

A R pick up? Oh no, I heard that the House will flip, but I don’t trust polls...

A big maybe but jjotto has some local information that may not portend a swipe of this seat.

Do you know where we were in 2016 on this date with absentees?
Ds now have a 25k lead which seems small as I recall.

Sir, if you are maintaining a list, please add me to it.
Thank you!
To: LS
Are you talking statewide? All ballots requested or just the ones returned?

And hopefully the Republican ballots actually vote Republican, and are not fraudulent ballots cast by Dem activists in the name of dead or senile Republicans.
