Is the LT gov elected as an individual? It’s unusual for an elected official to resign to the executive. The reason is they “work” for the people, not the government.

...a VERY disgruntled ex-Gov. Palin in a fit of pique against her former Lt Gov and then-Gov. Sean Parnell, endorsed Walker. I somewhat vaguely recall the endorsement, but not the reason... What'd I miss?

Alaska is more corrupt than Chicago. We have two full share US Senate seats, nationally strategic resources, 65 billion dollars in the bank, and only 700,000 people. Among the states, Alaska has the lowest cost/risk for outside meddlers.
The October surprise "investigation" into Sen Ted Stevens by ROBERT MEULLER, followed closely by Stevens PLANE ACCIDENT death, put Begich into the US Senate. Begich was the deciding vote on Obamacare.
Look at all the damage our other senator Murkowski has done.
