The destruction is ongoing today. Not as bad, but lots of power lines and trees down, and flooding.

It's looking pretty bad in SW Virginia - that is NW of the center and might be partially triggered by the inflow hitting the upslope of the mountains:

Probably jumping the gun but my GD works at a children’s clinic. She has heard from all her co-workers but no-one has heard from the boss. All have attempted to contact her.
She has a beach home and was going to ride out the storm at the clinic.
Prayers, please.

There already is a thread to complain about over-hyped storms for Hurricane Michael (keyword: chickenlittle). Apparently, it wasn't fill in the blank enough, thus requiring spillover to troll and disrupt this thread.

All is well, slept through the storm and right now it’s very warm and humid. Should be MUCH cooler tonight.
Remember the folks that ARE in the path of destruction!

What area is the clinic? Search and rescue are swarming, beginning with the hardest hit areas. Communications very limited due to complete disruption of infrastructure.
