I never liked people quoting someone else when their own words would do.
Churchill had a great way of phrasing things...for Churchill. But, I am not Churchill.
Truths are truths. They dont change. Speak the truth and you dont need to quote someone else.
“His apology offends me.”
Yes, he offends me as well. But the Uncle Fester wannabe totally creeps me out when he said, “.... I will go and educate myself further on his atrocities, racist views...”
That kool-aid he be drink’n sure has an after-glow.
Apologize for what?
Screw that!
If that is his standard then he doesnt know much about his liberal icons.
Astronauts were once people of high intelligence and character, no longer.
He's been pimping his soul so much for the gun control freaks, he no longer knows right from wrong.
I didn’t know we sent people that stupid into space. Why do we bother bringing them back?
No. You do not apologize when you do nothing wrong. You defend yourself.
Weak. I would follow it with:
You’re gonna want to put some ice on that.
-Bill Clinton
Must have left his spine (and his nuts) back on the ISS. As dumb as his brother.
Eff you, Kelly.
The whole family appears to be famous, weak and troubled. I regret the tragedy that occurred but it does not justify the things they say and do.
A few months ago, I saw a tweet that was a great but heretofore unknown to me Winston Churchill quote. I wanted to retweet it but decided to check the quote’s accuracy. I checked several Churchill quotation sites with no success. I tripped on a site called Leadlikechurchill.com.
I emailed and asked about the quote validity. Jonathan Sandy’s, Sir Winston’s Great Grandson answered me.
Unlike Scott Kelly, I was not embarrassed nor did I apologize. I was proud and gratified to make even the briefest of acquaintances with the progeny of such a great man.
BTW, the quote was good but inaccurate.
I guess some Jews will sooner or later demand all Jews quit saying good things about King David, he was after all a womanizer, sought to bed another man’s wife and had that man sent off to war.
Yes, Thomas Jefferson had a complicated life with his slaves, and yet from his mind and efforts we received the Declaration of Indpendence, and other words so memoriable to this nation.
Some people do great things and for those things they should be remembered. That does not mean they were always saints, but neither does it mean the great things they did do not deserve our admiration for them.
Rewriting history to conform to political correctness is a bad thing.
Notice Kelly’s groveling apology, where he promised to correct himself next time before he makes the terrible mistake of quoting a “racist” who committed “atrocities.” What supposed “atrocities” is he referring to, exactly?
He should be removed as an active astronaut for lack of moral fiber and insufficient judgment. He lacks moral courage and doesn’t know the difference between material and trivial. Both are killers in space.
He retired a couple years ago and now works for the United Nations.
His twin brother is married to Gabby Giffords.
