The Dems real problem is that this is affordable insurance that younger, healthy families and individuals can afford. The problem isn't with the insurance. The problem is that letting folks buy these other policies diminishes the number of people paying for pre-existing conditions under Obamacare.

Gotta shift the narrative before the mid-terms. It illustrates how much of a screw up BK was for them.

FREE! As in Medicare For All.
And Republicans have done a lousy job countering it.

LOL - They should delay the vote till after the election
To: ExTexasRedhead
That’s true; however, since the Dems do NOT have a majority in the Senate nor the House, there is NOTHING that they can DO, to force anything they want, to be brought to either floor. And they are NOT going to win a majority, in either House, in the upcoming midterm election!

> Theyre bankrupt. They got absolutely nothing left.
Yup, they haven’t even the ability to force Trump to veto this - even if they do manage to wrangle the votes to pass in the Senate, it’ll never pass the House.

Since the Dems are in the MINORITY, they really cant force anything.yeah that's what I was thinking, how can the minority force a vote on anything?

They already know that they’re going to lose multiple seats in the senate.

Democrats point out that the short-term health insurance plans can deny people who have pre-existing conditions. In which case, they can sign up for Obamacare plans. In the meantime, millions of people that do not have pre-existing conditions can get health insurnce at a more reasonable/affordable rate. And the democrats are against this? Must be because Trump is for it.

McConnell is in NO MOOD to kowtow to Chuckles Schumer, nor any damned Dem, right now. And it is McConnell, he of the newly found spine and genitalia, who decides what hits the floor/is discussed.
It's shocking enough, that some posters here don't understand HOW our government works...but when it comes from the Dems and/or the N.Y. Times, well that is just INSANE!
To: yesthatjallen
The GOP could blow this.
This is the single issue, which the GOP could lose everything on.

If I dont have a pre-existing condition, then why should I pay extra for a policy to cover one? So that the price for people with pre-extisting conditions can be less?

Dear Tammy,
If an American wants to buy a short term health care
plan, and can afford to do so, why should the government
stand in his way?
I know, I know, I’m not thinking like a liberal!!!

yours:
“More democrat hell raising just before an election to get their extreme base fired up.
They are as predictible as the sun and moon.”
mine:
True.
However, the more the D-commie/nazi party bosses incite and organize violence and the more they disrupt the proper functions of our government and society, the more NORMAL Americans they TURN OFF from voting D...........and some of them will even vote for normal, decent candidates now, not D-commie-Nazi puppets.
Yes, the party bosses have got their 3 percent commie-nazi “base” fired up.
And, they’ve driven away another 10 or 15 percent of the voters ...

I am just saying...
This is the one issue, which in my opinion the GOP has lots, and lots, and lots of people, very not on their side.
Be careful GOP.
Be very careful.
