Bingo! Well said...Exactly the takeaway IMHO...

False rape accusations are not about race...Racial factors sometimes attach, but it’s about power and control...

The accuser seeking power over the accused...

My kids were young. I remember it well as I lived in Wa at the time.

I'll never forget it. Or trust humans in charge much either.

Wenatchee. Also the McMartin so called abuse case. In both those cases the prosecution claimed the kids were forced to witness and participate in torturing animals. That was the first red flag that went up for me. Not PETA, nor any other bunny hugging wackos uttered a peep of outrage. Were they too preoccupied with intimidating little old ladies in fur coats? Or is it possible even those nutjobs realized things didn’t add up?

The scariest thing was that when someone tried to step up and say Wait. Because in Wenatchee supposedly tons of adult women were raping young children and statistically this has never been seen....the person who had the guts to say Wait a Minute - the next day that person was arrested and eventually charged with abusing the kids too.

Every dissenter was jailed within a week of dissenting. People who had spouses from Canada left the country quietly. And then at their new jobs in Canada they were fired after letters were sent to their Canadian employers. It was incredible - same as Judge K - ruining lives over complete BS.

But yes, a few places in California and some in Minnesota. But nothing on the scale of Wenatchee. Not in numbers or bizarreness.

And since watching that unfold from the other side of the state, I have always believed that hysteria and educated professionals, sheriffs, social workers, are not always trustworthy. Or maybe not ever.

Remember when Obama had that thing where he wanted people to email the WH about any negative rumors re:Obamacare? I had it on my FR profile for years. My first reaction was to recall Wenatchee.

I remember posters were saying "well I did the right thing and turned myself in" and it was a huge relief. Also quite funny.

Democrats think they have republicans and whites by the “hang me down things”. And, they may be right.

When it comes to blacks and women, they will always be the victims, and they will be believed first.

Somehow, this has to get turned around, and real quick, otherwise, the democrats will have won a lot of battles without even trying.

That’s why they think they have a winning case in the Kavanaugh case, where, even if Kavanaugh gets into the SCOTUS, the democrats believe or will continue to claim that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted Mrs Ford. With this kind of environment, democrats continue to believe that they have republicans by the “b-a-l-l-s”. Republicans in congress are cowering in fear, not wanting to become the victims themselves of the smear tactics that democrats continue to use effectively.

Oh yes, sorry, Peta would never care about those animals anyway. They never help on the animal fights that should matter, like the dogmeat industry.

What is your take on motivation? Power lust, neurotic personality disorder? These events are akin to the Salem Witch hysteria. The difference is that happened over three centuries ago.

I not only turned myself in. I turned in “almost everyone I know.” :)

Then you don’t know or understand the history of the democrat Sourh. This is typical of that time and was based on a lie

Evil. That’s why it scared me so much. And still does at times.

To Kill a Mockingbird is fiction. Tom Robinson is a made-up character. But I've read that the story was inspired by the Scottsboro case.

Unlike one or two others in this thread you seem to have misunderstood the point I was trying to make.

Like leftists in general, they think they're slick at how they pick and choose their battles.

So what was the point you were making? It has been a very long time since I read the novel (maybe before Kavanaugh was born).

To the reader it is obvious that Tom Robinson is innocent and it should have been obvious to the townspeople because of the reputation of the accuser's family--but do many of the townspeople believe that he is guilty because of their prejudices about black people? If so, that is comparable to the feminists who assume any man is guilty if a woman accuses him (unless the woman is a conservative and the man is a supporter of abortion).
