Did First Man Director Remove Neil Armstrong’s U.S. Flag Scene To Downplay American Greatness?

Oh do pound sand. I have a 22 year old son who lives and works in Canada. The attitudes and political directions of Canadians are for the most part, goofy liberalism and slightly antagonistic to the US. They are also quite friendly to all.

The main problem is their lightly veiled contempt shows up every once in a while, such as this movie.

During the Cold War, they were of slight help, such as manning the DEW line and providing a few interceptors. But helping us fight the hot parts of the war, like Vietnam? Nah. Instead they provided a haven for the draft-dodgers and girlie men who wanted to escape combat duty.

Their pleasant comfort and protection has been paid for by US taxpayers and with some US lives. We have seen some limited Canadian combat troops in Afghanistan but that's about it. Our part of their defense allows them to have whole set of armed forces smaller that a couple of US divisions.

Maple syrup and hockey and squishy liberal politics and a whole lot of snow. World-protecting investment and mission? Nah.
