Yep. End it. Here in AZ we don’t have it and we love it like that. It is a pain to remember when there’s a time difference with the left coast though when they change time.

Part of the year we are 2 hours off from the East Coast and the other part it’s 3 hours.

We don’t have to change our clocks or get jet lag from moving the time forward.

“Noon” is when the sun is highest in the sky.

24 hours in a day.

Take it from there.

Some folks don’t accept that reality just like some folks don’t accept that marriage is between a man and a woman.

When told the reason for daylight saving time the old Indian said…
‘Only a white man would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket and sew it to the bottom of a blanket and have a longer blanket.’

Here in the Northeastern US the only sane thing to do is to stick to what is now DST (essentially our summer as opposed to winter clock schedule) year-round.

Some refer to it as shifting to Atlantic time, I think it is, or essentially one time zone further to the east—such as for Nova Scotia. Because most important is getting back one hour of light in the latter afternoon through the winter months.

Correct! It’s too bad people are so deficient as to need a mechanical device (clock) to tell them when to get up and go to sleep. The sun does that for me.

DST is a retardation, long past any possible benefit it may have had. Hate hate hate it. There is no reason for it. None.

I think we should move it a half-hour and leave it, but the 9V battery lobby will fight it tooth-and-nail.

“Noon” is when the sun is highest in the sky.

24 hours in a day.

You can't have both. The time from high noon to high noon varies. It only averages 24 hours per day. If you insist on having noon when the sun is due south you'll have to tweak your clock up to a half minute every day. If you want your day to be 24 hours the sun can be 16 minutes off.

If DST in July helps with shoveling snow, you must live in southern New Zealand.

It has its uses for us in northern states with really bad winter weather, and having to drive in it.

But either/or, I dont care.

Honestly I don’t care, but then again my children are grown up and won’t have to walk to school in the dark.

I went to public school for 12 years and never once walked or drove to school in the dark. Want to know why?

Schools didn't have massive bussing schedules. That and the fact that schools used to run 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The last time there was an attempt to abolish daylight savings time (about 15 or so years ago), Congress ended up EXTENDING it. Lets not go through that again.

Not at my latitude. Noon is always highest in the sky. 1 pm during dst. Don’t know if it’s due south at that time. My house runs n/s and shadows always gone on e/w sides at same time.

More than a quarter of the states are divided between two time zones, besides the two mentioned, including Tennessee, Kentucky, and Texas.

End it.

It was always stupid.

Benjamin Franklin made a joke of it at first. Idiotic politicians believed he was serious and put it into practice.

Stop the idiocy.
