These are people who don’t understand economics and never will. That’s why their economies are also-rans in spite of some of best human resources on the planet. Leaders who are first rate plotters and incompetent rulers.

Partner, you hit a Home Run with that statement and that is all that needs to be said on this subject.

I guess that is why we call them Communists and Socialists that have never taken an "Economics" class period.

Yes I agree. Yet somehow due to America being so nice and Trump being a great leader, we end up inadvertently helping average Chinese, Iranian, and Russian people in the long run by taking their governments to task. Making America great ends up making the world great...

But not overnight.
And the people in those countries are responsible for where they ended up too — not just their governments. They willingly compromised their freedoms and submitted to the whims of the State in exchange for immediate material perks and feelings of imperial dominance etc...

Your initial response was ludicrous and is not under consideration by anyone other than nut cases.

Call me nuts when the dollar isn’t the world reserve currency. THIS is the issue and RUS/CHN have been talking about this for some time. It is a real threat.

Your solution would just make things worse for Americans or anyone else.

As long as we are the world power our currency will be the standard of international trade. There isn’t enough of any other and trying to make several currencies replace the dollar would introduce a whole new set of problems. It is true that the world’s biggest currency speculators, George Soros, would love the opportunities this would present him.

We are the biggest driver in world trade. The dollar’s value is backed by the most powerful economy on earth, the USA.

When the British Empire never saw the sun set, the Pound Sterling was the international currency.

The only thing to fear is that the idiot electorate returns the Democrats to power.

It would be difficult, yes. Our trade partner would have to change, so there would be a lag.

But I am quite sure we didn't trade with any of the Axis powers when we were at war with them. And that is the mindset we have to take if we are to survive. So it isn't unreasonable.

There was a DECLARED war against the Axis. That is not the case with the current situation.

Your proposals probably constitute an Act of War.

Undeclared wars are no less lethal. And I am unaware of how not trading with a country constitutes an act of war.
