It is easy to understand why people who live in big cities value animals more than people.

They see lots of people all the time. People are more of a nuisance than a help. Way too many people at certain times.

They hardly ever see any animals. When they do, it is a rare and treasured occurrence, much valued.

Why should they be worried about some rube out in the woods threatened by some valuable animals. They did not have the sense to stay out of the woods in the first place! /S

It never ceases to amaze how many guys go out in the woods to cut firewood alone. If there was ever a activity more dangerous to do alone I don’t know what it would be.

Here is what a smart person would have done:

911 DISPATCHER: 911-what is your Emergency?

ME: I identify as a Pygmy Raccoon, which as you know, is an endangered species, but also identify as a black, lesbian female, and am trapped in a tree by a pack of Grey Wolves, which are only a threatened species. I need help immediately!

911 DISPATCHER: Roger that, stay where you are, we will dispatch a rescue team immediately, and have helicopter gunships available to provide support within 10 minutes.

There are two types of leftists...those who would immediately convert to rational thought when in peril and allow the endangered species to be killed, and those who would rather die than harm some other species.

Granted, the former are far, FAR more numerous than the latter!

Even as I write this, some fifty years later, I can remember the gray, overcast sky, the specific blue color of that little banana bike with the coaster brake, and the nervousness I had looking over my shoulder, muttering to myself “Come on...come on...” as I tried to get that greasy bike chain back on the sprocket.

If you look deeply into their eyes and blink slowly then gently tip your head ever so slightly they will understand you love them and mean no harm and then you will be able to join the pack.

Actually in Montana when a grizzly trees someone in Yellowstone National Park it’s not too good for the camper - as a Park ranger told me once the grizzlies leave for a short while and come back JUST when the camper is almost down the tree...

The camper scurries back up only to find that the grizzly has come back with a beaver.

Its 50 years ago. You were a juvenile. The statutes of limitations have all expired, and many of the adults there at the time are dead.

Not rescuing her with helo because wolves are “endangered” is leftist think, every hunter knows wolves can attack humans especially if they are hybrid wolves. I have no problem with leftist wanting to play with wolves, cleans out the gene pool. This woman was an idiot and deserved to be treed. Wolf attacks are rare in comparison to other predators, but that does not mean they do not happen. Lone wolf attacks are most common, pack attacks are not as common. But out in the middle of nowhere with nothing but paper spray, how stupid is she. She was like a pizza delivery to a hungry wolf pack, she even bought the pepper. Historically wolves were hunted to near extinction because they found domestic animal to be an easier meal then their wild cousins.
