I miss the old sitcoms and comedians like Bob Hope, Red Skelton, etc
I’ve been saying this for years. The last late night funny guys were Carson and Leno. Since then, nothing but hateful unwatchable garbage. Stands ups were unfunny even before that. TV shows, gag.
Me too.
Yep. Look at SNL. Look at all the Late Night Comedy shows. Theyre all hardcore Leftists. Jokes are NEVER allowed to be made at the expense of Lefties or the Northeast and Left Coast - no matter how hypocritical they are and no matter how absurd their internal contradictions.
The fact that NOBODY is to even be allowed to touch these subjects shows how in the tank all the media/entertainment companies are. Any one that broke the taboo against making fun of the Left who was even moderately funny would instantly gain huge market share. The networks must know this. They are willingly sacrificing market share in the name of ideology. That right there should show everyone how much the NY/LA media is out of touch with vast swathes of America.
Do all of the writers at townhall constantly shill their books?
PS here are a few Leftist internal contradictions that could be mercilessly ridiculed:
Feminism and LGBT vs Islam - both are part of the Leftist coalition yet it is almost impossible to imagine groups that could be more ideologically opposed to one another.
Celebrities who claim to be so green yet ride in limos and private jets and live in mansions.
Celebrities and billionaires against guns......who have armed bodyguards
Leftists claim to be against income and wealth disparity....yet one of the bluest of states, California, has THE biggest gap in the country despite effectively having been a one party state for decades.
Poop and used needles all over the streets in THE most expensive city in America - the Leftist utopia of San Francisco
Massive gun violence in major cities like Chicago, Baltimore etc that are run by Democrats and which have very strict gun control.
Squaw Grey Beaver lying to claim minority status.
Maxine Waters....nothing more needs to be said
The Racist NY Times hiring and sticking with a known racist.
The obvious censorship of big Tech.
The MSMs constant whining when they get criticized.
White Antifa thugs screaming racial epithets at Black Cops.......in the name of tolerance - natch!
All of the above and more is begging to be skewered - yet NEVER is by the Leftist Media and entertainment companies.
Perhaps. He’s no P.J. O’Rourke, that’s for sure. Or James Thurber...
Comedy has become angry liberals screaming about politics.
That’s not comedy, and it isn’t funny.
We’ve stopped going to comedy clubs or going to comedy shows anywhere else because it has become nothing but insults shouted at Americans.
I find it hilarious that Entertainers affected by these Gestapo tactics react as if they are passengers....These IDIOT entertainers were the ones PUSHING this Fascism as long as it was ONLY affecting Conservatives.
“The last late night funny guys were Carson and Leno.”
Agree with you about Leno. He was very funny and took shot equally at the Left and the Right. Some of his best lines were when he talked about cats.
There is only 1 effective way to respond to a leftist: with mockery.
Mock them mercilessly. Every chance you get. Mock a leftie today!
I understand.
BTW, thanks to you, I changed the word Liberals to Leftists in my tagline. Thanks.
Fixed it.

He was hilarious. I remember a routine of his like it was yesterday, from the time when comedians didn't have to be so PC:
So when I was single, I used to go a lot to this great little Chinese restaurant in Brooklyn. The owner was always so glad to see me, a regular customer. One day, after I was gone for a few weeks, I brought my new wife with me. The owner was so happy to see her. "Mistah Sahr! Mistah Sahr! You bring pretty lady! Herro, pretty lady!
Every time we went there, he was ecstatic. "Mistah Sahr! Pretty lady! What pretty lady want to eat? I make someting speciah fo pretty lady!"
So, recently, I went there alone. The owner comes over and says, "Mistah Sahr, why you come arone? Where pretty lady? Why you not bring pretty lady?"
"She left me. I got a divorce."
"Ohhh. You betta off."
No-one could touch Carson. Leno and Letterman (before Dave became a 24/7 hater) both stepped on their jokes by explaining them after the punchline. Carson never did that. He said the joke with impeccable timing and either the audience got it or they didn't. In the rare instances when they didn't, he would make a joke about the previous joke having bombed, but he would never pander for a laugh.
I agree with poster above who say he is too wordy for truly deft comedy, and I can rarely be bothered to read his tap dancing all the way through.
Which is no doubt the reason ABC cancelled it.
