I think that it is a real testament to the USA, and our soldiers, on how we handled being the victors in WWII, to see the success of Germany and Japan, and our good relations with those nations. But those those grudges that our father’s had were understandable.
You are right on.
And people in battle weary countries always preferred the GI over any other countries troops. At the end of the European theater of war, refugees and others headed away from the Soviet troops and went toward the Americans and British.
That settles it.
I shouldve joined the Marines.
How much were they paid to conduct this study?!
Well, we did march in formation with briefcases to our tech school classes. I never shouldered a weapon or had chemical warfare training in six wonderful years in the USAF. Oh, I am a Vietnam Era Vet by less than two months before it closed on May 7, 1975 and was one of the last flights to be issued the 1505 khaki uniforms in basic training.
It’s heartwarming to see this generation of Marines are upholding the tradition of the Corps.
I think the headline more or less encapsulates every drill instructors’ boasts.
It was a joke ....... it just seems with the lesbian in charge of the Air Force Academy and the new "revelation" of the gay Defensive Back at the USAF being praised, the press seems to love the USAF.....
Here's another fact that you might enjoy if you're in the USAF....or since you're using WWII casualty stats the US Army Air Corps.
Great story! Reminded me of an event in my Navy days when we were on a Med Cruise and the Div. Off. loaded up liberty boats with beer and h.c. sandwiches and took us to a small island where we ate and drank beer while playing baseball most of the day. We were sunburned & drunk but the next day was a Sunday routine, so we slept.
I suppose that means no Barnacle Bill the Sailor lyrics.
They must have done this research on Nov. 11th....sheesh.

Does that mean that the term ‘Drunken Sailor’ is now in 2nd place?
Can we still use drink like a ‘fish’ or do we have to say drink like a ‘Jarhead’.
(I Realize the Marine types will call me a Squid BUT they must remember a Squid is a SUPERIOR form of MARINE life).
((Look THAT up in your Funk&Wagnalls)
Pfft... I scored 96/100, he did better?
I remember 1505s. And c**t caps. And Chukka boots.
How childish. Read the forum rules, noob.
The Air Corps was pre- then early WWII. That again evolved to the US Army Air Force (USAAF) then stayed that way until the USAF was born in 1947.
To the best of my knowledge, the army has no fixed wing aircraft that aren’t pulled by a propeller. And extremely few of those.
The A10 is all AF.
Marine DIs trained us in Pensacola. They were awesome.
