Please note 32 CFR § 147.14 Guideline LOutside activities (from "adjudication guidelines")
(a) The concern. Involvement in certain types of outside employment or activities is of security concern if it poses a conflict with an individual's security responsibilities and could create an increased risk of unauthorized disclosure of classified information.
(b) Conditions that could raise a security concern and may be disqualifying include any service, whether compensated, volunteer, or employment with:
(1) A foreign country;
(2) Any foreign national;
(3) A representative of any foreign interest;
(4) Any foreign, domestic, or international organization or person engaged in analysis, discussion, or publication of material on intelligence, defense, foreign affairs, or protected technology.
Point #4 was written just to deal with talking heads who seek to leverage supposed expertise as a result of having a clearance.
And the problem is...???
Nobody should get a financial windfall nor expect one from a security clearance. Thats just wrong. America has millions of security clearances out there. And there are several that should not exist. Certainly those who make money on them should have their clearances taken away. Or at least put on hiatus.
Should have them executed.
Boo-effin’-hoo.
So who provides the secure server and pays for it? They no longer are employees, so who pays for it? Maybe they go the Hillary route, but it needs to be looked into. What if they get hacked?
They won’t be able to bribe them to give MSNBC info.
How is it that someone can spend 18 months leaking classified information for personal gain and very unsubtly publicly agitating for a coup against the US, with another year before that abusing his power as part of a criminal conspiracy to fabricate a grounds for a coup as an “insurance policy” against the voters, and still get to keep his security clearance? Can anyone explain this?
They made damn sure Trump didn’t benefit from the private sector as a result of HIS government job, didn’t they? So now the shoe is on the other foot, and they don’t like the fit. Too bad, so sad.
The Deep State people really do think they are superior to taxpayers.
If an engineer has a job at a high-tech firm with full access to highly confidential design information, and then leaves the firm, he doesn’t retain access to that information so that he can sell it to the firm’s competition. The firm can’t take away what he’s learned, but there’s no way it would allow him to refresh his memory or learn more at the firm’s expense. If he were to steal proprietary documents before leaving the firm, he would be subject to criminal prosecution. His former colleagues would be subject to serious discipline or termination if they were to discuss trade secrets with him after leaving the firm.
But, when it comes to national security secrets, the Deep State think they are quite exempt from such concerns.
It’s pretty amazing when you think about it this way.
We do have one reason to care.
If they are using their clearances to make money,they are a danger to our nation’s security.
And the fact that they are not loyal to anyone or anything other than themselves, the danger is compounded.
Good news.
How is this going to be a financial hardship? Unless they’re selling secrets?
As you are aware, a security clearance without ‘need to know’ is insufficient to access classified information. Employment at CNN does not constitute ‘need to know’.
So will prison time.
Or...they could swing by their neck until dead and be free from all financial obligations.
When has the left EVER been concerned about financial harm to someone on the right?
Crass reporting.
Excellent news!
Not only do we not care but NBC is stating a falsehood. Whether they have clearances or not, they are free to spout their BS, and that is what they are being paid for.
So?
