6 years is a long time and Senators are not going to be keen to cost themselves their jobs by voting contrary to the wishes of their own voters when they’re already in tight races. I predict multiple red state Democrats are going to vote to confirm Kavanaugh.

The Red State D’s up for re-election know that to vote against the nominee guarantees they are out of a Job.
They are most likely out of a Job either way, but when it comes to most likely out of a Job if I vote for Trump’s nominee or guaranteed out of a Job if I don’t they will vote for the nominee.
