I just find it astonishing that a store that would have an employee/ass’t manager/manager, whatever, that would actually actively help to stop robberies would be summarily fired. Those are the people you promote, not fire.

Corporate America in today's litigious world.
They afraid of liability. Lawsuits are expensive nowadays.
But bad publicity and damaged goodwill is hard to recover from sometimes.
