“Incrementalism and the long game is what wins.”

Wow...there is so much truth in that statement. A brief review of the leftist attack on America for the last 60 or 70 years proves your point. They GRADUALLY attacked and took over our entire education system, our entire media , even our corporations, and all the while we patiently and ignorantly “tolerated” them. Well, we may have “tolerated” ourselves to death.

My model for behavior of the parties is now null and void. That’s the way it SHOULD work but we’re too far gone for it to be like that.

Now Conservatives must push laws and the passing of new rules and concepts. Were I there, I would have to push laws that brought us back to a certain point that myself and my constituents were comfortable with.

Like running on the platform on returning to a gold standard. I don’t know why this isn’t in our conversation anymore. A flat tax and the return to the gold standard would insulate us from any kind of trade war with China.

Countries would prefer to do business with us even if our prices were higher.

Trump _appears_ to have come to the same conclusion as I: Why would ANYONE want to be the leader of a nation of poor, suffering people ? Something I couldn’t figure out about Obama. Why would anyone want to make their country poorer and worse on the world stage ? Of course Obama knew this. Only problem is that he wasn’t pulling for our success - he was pulling for the success of the Islamic world.

Trump wants to create a better America for his kids and grandkids. And that’s great to me, because I have kids too. We’re at the same table, speaking the same things here.

My previous post is about things as they were. It was a time when there was no (or very little) animosity to the other party. Everyone came to work to do what they were voted in to do. The President’s job was to preside over these meetings and this workday to make sure that their methods and maneuvers checked out.

The last hold-out of this sort of pure government was Calvin Coolidge. When he was gone and FDR came in they changed everything about the position and the roles of legislators. They became celebrities. Now that’s what we’re stuck with. These people aren’t anything like the men who started this country in any way at all.

“So you are a socialist,.....
I, on the other hand, want new laws that will roll things back.”

You, on the other hand as you say, may want to read my post a bit more carefully.

To the rest of you who more eloquently debated my post I need to clarify - I wrote that my take on government ended about a 100 years ago. And that Coolidge was the last president who occupied office in the true nature of the Constitution.

Solar is a joke.

It has applications.

If solar was the answer you’d see it on everyone’s house. but you don’t for a reason.

I didn’t think this was the usual writing of Hanson - turns out it was an interview. Should have said as much in the title or 1st post...

“”Victor Davis Hanson of the Hoover Institution is interviewed by FOX News’ Tucker Carlson on the lack of agenda from the left and how the anti-Trump faction was wrong about him.””

“This type of EO is perfect though - It does not establish a new rule, it’s a federal edict that enforces a constitutional rule.”

Why do you need an EO to reinforce your God-given right to bear arms? Sounds pretty stupid to me if you want or need a government-approved stamp to own a weapon.

Instead he’s been the best president In my lifetime. That includes Ronald reagan.

I voted for him but I held my nose......

Was stuck eating in a place where they had MSDNC on the TV, and I was close enough to hear it. Was struck by the fact that, in the time I was forced to listen, they did not present even an iota of actual news. It was all speculation about the President. The “news” presenters obviously knew less about their subject than I do, but they babbled on anyway. Why would anyone watch this crap? It’s pure fiction.

If something hasn’t happened yet, it’s not news.

“Well yeah, but I bought a new VW and found an empty vodka bottle where the tool kit was :)”

Which means what? That somebody at the dealership in charge of detailing new cars was hitting the bottle the day your car was checked?

The best thing that ever happened for consumers of automobiles in this country was foreign cars.

Really? All it takes is one 3-word phrase for you to commit total obedience to a candidate, even when there are plenty of areas of concern (most especially an utter lack of any track record)?

Not posted to me, but what do you mean, "Lack of any track record"?
