“Its not Poland making the decision to retire over 64 year old judges, its basically someone from another country. “
It is a Polish law and it is the EU objecting to this Polish law. See my post #38 on this thread.
Keep in mind, what the Conservatives in Poland know about the “Left” in their country is that most of the top Communists just changed their label to “socialists” and became part of the early “democratic” (another long story) governments that came up after the Soviets withdrew and the official Communist government fell. The Conservatives in Poland, like those in the current government, have never been fooled by all that.

Thanks for the clarification. It would be nice if we had a news media that would be halfway interested about informing us about what is happening in the world instead of spending every waking moment of every day trying to demonize Trump.
Earlier on Tuesday, Gersdorf told students at a year-end event at Warsaw University that it is illegal to retroactively lower the retirement age for judges after they start their terms, calling it a purge under the guise of a retrospective change of the retirement age.
Intermarium Now!
Interesting idea, a mutual support pact that doesn’t lean on the Brussels Sprout Veggie Gang.
Humm. I could see why Poland would want to purge legacy socialists this way, if they are all the older crowd. Whether this ultimately works to Poland’s boon depends on whether it turns socialist again later. In which case it might lose conservative judges to age too.
