Sure. The standard interpretation of Ryan’s actions with respec to immigration is that he’s just another swamp rat, and his favorable view of liberal immigration policies and softness on illegals

Your theory seems to be that his actions are actuated by a desire to please the Pope. Frankly I think the dominant interpretation is correct and I’m asking you what evidence your interpretation is based on.

I knew all that. Lots of people profit, politically or economically, from illegal immigration. I’m a practicing Catholic and I don’t donate to fundraising above the parish level because of the hierarchy’s liberal ness. Francis is a left wing crackpot. But, if my crazy Aunt Sally favors illegal immigration, does that mean that that Ryan is doing her bidding? Of course not; they’re just fellow travelers.
I’ll put my cards on the table: FRiend, I suspect you’re just anti-Catholic. We’ve been listening to this trope that we’re not loyal to the Constituion, but rather the Pope, for the better part of 200 years. It’s crap.
