POTUS arrived at the Istana at 11:51 am, passing a forest of cameras and photographers across the street from the front gate that is vastly larger than one would normally expect for a meeting of a US president and a Singaporean PM.

The building is a white-washed colonial pile, with decorative netting in the front, where it is apparently undergoing renovation.

We are in a foyer looking though glass door into a large dining room where the president and PM will have lunch, under a dazzling chandelier.

Pool is awaiting President Trump and PM Lee.
