WaPo is always suspect. About the time Bezos bought the paper, he made a $600M deal with the CIA, but they continued to cover the deep state without disclosing that little fact.
I am absolutely fascinated by this story.
And the fact that Trump backed the withholding of this individual’s identity is the most interesting part of the story.
I think the Mueller investigation is a ruse, a smoke screen to deflect from the real investigations into the real career criminals in government. Mueller’s investigation is going nowhere. It’ll end when it is no longer necessary.
What if leaking some documents interferes with ongoing investigations elsewhere? I want convictions of the swamp, not press conferences by attention seekers.

You’re right. Hasn’t DOJ or the intelligence community ever heard of “Executive Session” hearings? Gee, I did back in the 60’s when I was asked to give testimony before an intelligence committee. Name was never leaked. It was later released along with my testimony. Kept me from getting shived or beaten for the rest of my work.
There is also a more secret type of meeting, if I recall correctly, in which the information/source meets only with a handful of people, not in Executive Session which could include a lot of leaky Democrat traitors. This has happened before which is why the Intelligence (Agents) Identity Act of the early 1980’s came about, after CIA station chief Welch was assassinated by Greek communists or Arab assassins.
It was unofficially called the “Phillip Agee Act” regarding CIA traitor Phillip Agee who became a Cuban DGI/KGB agent and outted many real agents and some totally innocent people to the Soviets/Cubans and the world. Put a big hurt on some of our Intell Ops.

Kennedy had access to secrets as a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and I suspect him of trying to sabotage a report on communist terrorism that a Senate Subcommittee was preparing in 1972 (the alternative was that a subcommittee staff member was trying to sabotage it).
Never found out who the destroyer was.
