So, Comey and Clapper decide to set up the President. Comey does his part by briefing the President on the “Dossier” but doesn’t tell him it was paid for by Clinton and the DNC. Clapper does his part by leaking the briefing to CNN, thereby legitimizing the “Dossier” as breaking news, even though it had been shopped without success by Steele for almost a year. CNN does it’s part by reporting the briefing and “Dossier” as news to help fuel doubts about the President. For their combined efforts, Tapper and his friends are given a journalism award and Clapper gets a contract with CNN. Everyone is happy.
