Ryan offered little reaction to the notion,................... Maybe his mind was on the wall they could use to get rid of him? (along with McConnell)

Just building the wall will cost Mexico loads in prison costs.

That is not "Mexico paying for the wall".

So “Mexico will pay for the wall” is like spillin’ grape juice on a white shirt when you were 10? OK, guess I’ll go along with that.

The article says this about funding:

“The Pentagon has plenty of money, but reprogramming it for a wall would require votes in Congress that the president does not seem to have. Taking money from the current 2018 budget for the wall would require an act of Congress, said a senior Pentagon official.

“To find the money in the 2019 defense budget, Trump would have to submit a budget amendment that would still require 60 votes in the Senate, the official said.”

President Trump: Raise your tax on out of country monetary transfers from 5% to 50% and the wall can be built very quickly.

Using appropriated funds doesn’t mean Mexico if off the hook.

Of course it doesn't.

The U.S. military is the U.S. taxpayers.

And the U.S. defense budget is funded by those taxpayers. Not Mexico.

Mexico will pay for 10 walls over 10 years after NAFTA is re-negotiated by Trump Admin.

How?

So, it took the MSM a few days to figure this out.

Now that it has, the caterwauling is about to begin in earnest.

In the 1950s, the building of the Interstate Highway system was designated as a national defense project.

Reduce our foreign aid to Mexico to build the wall.

That's money from U.S. taxpayers, not Mexico.

One would think that preserving the 2nd amendment could also be a national security item, time to add 50 state reciprocity.

For God’s sake who care who is going to pay for the wall. Campaign promises or campaign rhetoric who cares so long as the wall gets built. This side show that the media wants us to focus on is complete bull sh*t. I do not care if Mexico pays for the wall or is the Amish in southern Pennsylvania pays for the wall. The issue is and has been that we must stop illegal immigration. Period! The rest of the stuff is just a distraction.

well an invasion by foreigners seems to be happening and a national security concern..then we have sanctuary states adding to the urgency to stop the invasion.

I read somewhere on this site that the Omnibus is not a budget. If that is true then the prez has a lot of discretion to where that money will go.

Obama, in his Omnibus, gave money to the banks and things like Solyndra, which was a huge waste.

If Trump does consolidate his entire military percentage of the Omnibus, then we can probably get the wall, a pay increase for the military and repair of hardware, which was his goal.
