Hungarian treats all look so good and then when you bite into them? Oh no. It’s terrible!
Other than that, the place is great!
Nothing wrong with Hungarian pastry. For years I lived in Yorkville which had many Hungarian bakeries as well as grocery stores. They were delicious although we can disagree over what treats we enjoy.
The pastries were really good for the most part. I think what I’m getting at would be more classified as a “candy”. My wife and I were convinced the whole country was playing a practical joke on us.
You know it’s bad and getting worse when the politicians haul ass.
So long Sweden, wish I had known ya.
LOL! Hungarian and Finnish are supposedly related - and both a bitch to learn for non-natives.
Maybe he’ll take a few on the chin while practicing...
I can deal with the Germanic and Romance languages...Hungarian? Nope.
A countess is hightailing it out of there, too:

Western Europe is dead, they just don’t understand it yet.
Apparently, the closest analog for the Hungarian language is Finnish(!)
The movement of peoples in Antiquity fascinates me. Sometimes, all we have are little clues like the above.
They were originally Huns. They settled down, interbred with the locals, and found God.
Now they are the sole hope for all of Europe.
Indeed, see my comment at #25...Hungarian and Finnish...closely related, difficult to learn for non-natives.
I think if you’re moving to another country, you need to learn the local language. That’s a big hurdle for Hungary.
Now I don’t know how difficult Slovenian might be, but from what I’ve seen it’s a beautiful country. I could see myself living there.
