Liberator...
Good link.
Then there is that pesky part of trying to disarm tens of millions of gun owners.
The ignorant speak out.
You’re right. And Connecticut.
Yep, they are just begging for a dictator/communist takeover.
I think you know. I’m old enough I don’t worry about the future other than for my family.
“Our representatives in Washington must act less like politicians and more like parents.”
I didn’t vote for parents.
Get rid of gangbanger murders and that murder rate is near zero.
The USA is by far the safest nation on the planet except for some really, really small countries.
Does he remember what happened when we passed a constitutional amendment to ban alcohol? Multiply this by what happened when the British tried to confiscate weapons in the Colonies in 1775. The result won’t be pleasant.
Ban all movies, TV shows and video games that glorify killing.
Get to a nearby indoor range, sign in, buy some time and get trained on pistol and rifle. Then try a variety of their range guns (theyll have the popular models). Get to be a good shot, meet some shooters, enjoy the sport. Learn about what gun might suit you for protection, sport.
“It’s time for a gun abolish movement.”
Or...
It’s time for a civil war.
Which would be most uncivil.

“...Any component for a pistol or rifle, could be created using a 3-D printer, though it may be of inferior durability....”
Not the case.
Springs cannot be made, ready-to-use, by any 3D print process. They must be shaped first, then tempered. Fortunately, the heat-treatment processes required for tempering are not terribly difficult. Additionally, there are millions upon millions of springs out there, ready-made, that might possibly be modified to needed configurations.
And while I cannot recall the exact strength nor modulus of elasticity required, I suspect that home manufacture of guns will not succeed unless proper alloys of steel can be obtained, and at least some level of heat treatment can be devised. Applies to barrels, bolts, receivers, and the like. Containing the pressure generated by a modern rifle cartridge is not a trivial endeavor, even when one does concede a very short service life.
Tactically, the Liberator pistol has been described as “a gun to get a gun.” The resistance-movement operative was expected to get really close to an isolated guard or a lone scout, use the Liberator’s 45 ACP round to disable, kill, or otherwise overcome the target, then make off with the target’s personal weapon and ammunition. Unfortunately, no record exists of the little pistol’s effectiveness in action.
